Eberspaecher held its ground in a challenging market environment during the past year and achieved a strong operating result. The company is positioning itself for the future with innovative products and new partnerships.

“Despite a demanding operating environment, in the past year we once again demonstrated that our transformation strategy is commercially successful. We achieved an operating result that compares favourably within the automotive supplier industry,” said CEO Jörg Steins while reflecting on the past financial year. The operating result, adjusted for extraordinary items and non-recurring expenses, stood at €86.3 million.
The company continues to evolve technologically, organisationally and operationally to remain competitive. The significant improvement in cash flow from operating activities to €194.0 million (previous year: €160.1 million) underlines the effectiveness of the measures implemented. Consolidated revenue of the Eberspaecher Group declined by 6.6% to €4,979.8 million (previous year: €5,333.2 million). All divisions recorded lower revenues in an overall difficult economic environment, particularly due to exchange-rate effects. Net revenue, adjusted for transitory items such as monoliths*, declined by 7.3% to €2,531.3 million (previous year: €2,731.7 million). Headcount remained broadly stable in 2025, with the company employing 10,374 people worldwide (previous year: 10,680), including around 3,300 in Germany.
Strength through international presencae and new business areas
As a technology provider with strong system competence, Eberspaecher is leveraging its existing know-how to expand into new business areas, including sectors beyond the automotive industry. To support this strategy, the Esslingen-based company secured targeted partnerships, including collaborations with Denmark-based Topsoe for SOEC pressure vessels used in hydrogen production and Dutch specialist Zeliox for energy storage systems.
The company also highlighted several product launches introduced during the previous year, including battery housings made of high-strength steel with customer nominations in China, 800-volt heating solutions for electric vehicles, a comprehensive portfolio for fuel cell systems, and Direct Air Capture technology that removes CO₂ from the atmosphere.

Its international joint manufacturing network, comprising around 40 production sites across more than 30 countries, has also enhanced the company’s resilience against tariffs and geopolitical shifts. “Markets remain volatile and the rules of the game are changing – we are redefining our role and responding with flexibility, speed and innovation. We have achieved enormous progress and regard the commercial development of the financial year as overall successful,” added Jörg Steins.
Outlook
“1865 – 2025 marks 160 years of experience for our company. For us as a family-owned business, this is not a reason for complacency, but an obligation to actively drive future technologies forward,” said Managing Partner Martin Peters while outlining the company’s outlook.
The current year continues to be characterised by uncertainty and its impact on global market developments. At the same time, competitive pressure, especially from Asia, is intensifying. “The key is resilience. Our corporate management is therefore focused on profitability, taking into account regional differences and significantly shorter planning cycles,” said Jörg Steins.
During the first few months of 2026, the Group reported positive business performance supported by further stabilisation and customer demand across all areas. Eberspaecher expects a significant improvement in operating EBIT during the current financial year.
Sustainability 2025
The Group achieved important milestones in its journey towards becoming CO₂-neutral in production by 2030. Production-related CO₂ emissions have been reduced by 59% since data collection began in 2019, while emissions linked to electricity consumption have been lowered by 70%. In addition to targeted reductions in energy consumption, the increased use of green electricity and in-house photovoltaic systems also contributed to these achievements.
As a technology provider, Eberspaecher continues to develop sustainable products such as propane-based air-conditioning systems and is also strengthening sustainability across its supply chain through the use of sustainable steel for exhaust systems. The newly published Sustainability Report 2025 outlines the company’s initiatives across the three focus areas of Green Footprint, People and Innovations.
