Drivn, an EV leasing platform focused on heavy commercial fleets, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, to explore leasing-based deployment of electric commercial vehicles in India. Under the partnership, Drivn will offer customised leasing solutions for Tata Motors’ electric commercial vehicle portfolio, helping fleet operators transition to electric vehicles through simpler, more accessible financing.

Drivn offers bespoke operating lease solutions tailored to commercial fleet operators, aiming to bridge long-standing gaps in financing, deployment, and charging infrastructure to make fleet electrification more practical across India. Tata Motors, meanwhile, brings India’s widest electric commercial vehicle portfolio, working closely with fleet owners to optimise performance, uptime, charging, and financing across the vehicle lifecycle.
Mr. Rajesh Kaul, Vice President & Business Head – Trucks, Tata Motors Ltd., said the company is committed to democratising clean mobility and accelerating India’s transition to sustainable transportation, adding that the partnership with Drivn will make electric trucks more accessible to customers, backed by a portfolio engineered for performance, reliability, and strong operating economics.
Mr. Manav Bansal, CEO and Co-founder of Drivn, said making electric fleets commercially viable is key to driving adoption at scale, and that the partnership combines Tata Motors’ strong vehicle portfolio with Drivn’s leasing model to address barriers like upfront costs and deployment timelines. He added that the companies intend to deploy over 1,000 electric trucks over the next two years, offering fleet operators a clearer, more scalable path to electrification.
Ms. Alpna Jain, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer at Drivn, said electric fleet adoption scales when the right ecosystem comes together, with Tata Motors’ market presence giving fleet operators trust and access, alongside joint commitments on vehicle maintenance, uptime, and efficiency monitoring.
Tata Motors recently introduced a comprehensive electric truck portfolio ranging from seven to 55 tonnes, built on its new I-MOEV (Intelligent Modular Electric Vehicle) Architecture under the Tata Trucks.ev brand, engineered for applications including e-commerce logistics, construction material movement, and port operations, and backed by a growing EV charging infrastructure and nationwide service network.
