Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), a 100 per cent wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), Japan, also a Daimler company, has announced commencement of delivery of DICV-made Fuso mixers (FJ 2528C) to Thailand, one of the key strategic markets for the company in Asia. With this range of completely-built trucks with concrete mixer bodies, DICV steps into one of the most important areas in Thailand – the concrete construction equipment segment.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Erich Nesselhauf, CEO and Managing Director, DICV, observed: “With the delivery of the first Fuso concrete mixer trucks to Thailand we underline that we are continuously expanding our export business. These new Fuso mixers are built to perfectly suit the customer requirements in the important construction sector. The roll-out from our production line in Oragadam shows once more our flexibility in manufacturing trucks which are especially customized to industry requirement.”

New truck guarantees maximum value for money

The new Fuso FJ2528C 6X4 with 280 hp engine output is the ideal base for the one-stop tailor-made concrete mixer which has a drum capacity of 6 cbm or 7 cbm according to customer’s needs. Being ‘ready to use’ means the customer starts getting returns from the day of purchase and the quality is assured through stringent checks with Daimler standards. With many features for driver comfort like air-conditioned cabin, air-suspended seats, power windows and central locking, these robust trucks are especially developed to meet the customer expectations in growth markets. The concrete mixer concept is expected to be a game changer in the construction equipment segment.

Exports prospects

Under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, DICV and MFTBC have combined their strength to tap into further sales potential. While DICV focuses on the Indian market and countries such as Nepal, which are closely related to the Indian market, MFTBC will service the rising demand in the Asian and African regions with its existing portfolio of Mitsubishi-Fuso trucks from its plant in Kawasaki and the sturdy Fuso trucks produced at the Oragadam plant.

With Thailand now, DICV has now covered 11 export markets like Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal and Tanzania. There are further plans to explore markets in the Middle East and Latin America this year itself.

In Thailand, Mitsubishi Fuso trucks are distributed by Fuso Truck Thailand Co. Ltd.
