A day’s conference on New Age Entrepreneurship was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Southern Region in Chennai on February 16, coinciding with the Emerging Entrepreneur Awards presentation.
The inaugural session was addressed by eminent industry leaders such as Mr. P. Ravichandran, Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council, and President, Danfoss India, Mr. Rajiv Sundar, Partner, Deloitte, and Mr. C.K. Ranganathan, Chairman, CII SR Emerging Entrepreneur Awards 2017, and Chairman & Managing Director, CavinKare P. Ltd. This was followed by five interesting sessions attended by the respective industry heads.
At the day-long conference, different industry leaders were honoured with the CII SR Emerging Entrepreneur Awards 2017. Presenting the Awards, Mr. Suresh Krishna, Past President, CII, and Chairman & Managing Director, Sundram Fasteners Ltd., in his thought-provoking speech, appealed to the award winners and budding entrepreneurs to rise up to the occasion to meet the global challenges in every industry as India is among the fastest growing developing economies with global competitiveness.
Referring to the journey of Sundram Fasteners, Mr. Suresh Krishna said the company was started in a humble way years ago, and today it has become a market leader in the fastener industry. Last year the company’s export turnover crossed Rs. 1,000-crore mark.
Mr. T.T. Ashok, Jury Chairman, CII SR Emerging Entrepreneur Awards 2017, and Managing Director, Taylor Rubber Pvt. Ltd., complimented the Award winners.
