Busworld Türkiye 2026 Reflects Turkey’s Growing Influence in Global Public Transport

Busworld Türkiye 2026 has once again underlined Turkey’s growing importance in the global bus and coach industry. Bringing together 161 exhibitors from across the world, the exhibition showcased the latest developments in electric mobility, autonomous transportation, connected vehicle technologies and advanced public transport solutions. The expanded scale of the event and the strong participation from OEMs and suppliers reflected the country’s increasing role as a manufacturing and export hub for buses, coaches and related technologies.

Turkish Manufacturers Drive Innovation

One of the major highlights of the exhibition was the strong presence of Turkish bus manufacturers. Otokar introduced its new e-TERRITO battery-electric bus aimed at interurban and peri-urban operations, while also showcasing the autonomous e-CENTRO microbus and the upgraded e-KENT electric city bus. The company further highlighted improvements to its Sultan Comfort microbus, reinforcing its focus on both sustainable mobility and conventional transport applications.

Karsan drew significant attention with its electric and autonomous vehicle portfolio, including the Autonomous e-ATAK, e-ATA 12 and e-ATA 18. The company continues to strengthen its position in European markets through electric mobility solutions and autonomous transport technologies.

Bozankaya also showcased its growing capabilities in battery-electric public transport, highlighting the increasing maturity of Turkish-developed electric bus platforms and their expanding presence in international markets.

Multiple Pathways to Sustainable Mobility

While battery-electric buses remained a major focus area, several exhibitors demonstrated that the industry’s transition towards cleaner transportation will involve multiple technologies.

IVECO BUS presented its CROSSWAY Low Entry ELEC, CROSSWAY Low Entry and EVADYS range, underlining a multi-energy strategy that includes battery-electric, renewable-fuel and biomethane-compatible solutions. The company’s display reflected the reality that operators across different regions require flexible solutions based on infrastructure availability, route profiles and operating economics.

Alongside vehicle manufacturers, leading technology suppliers such as ZF highlighted advanced driveline systems, digital solutions and intelligent fleet management technologies designed to improve vehicle efficiency, safety and uptime. Such technologies are becoming increasingly important as operators seek to maximize fleet productivity while reducing operating costs.

Turkey Strengthens Its Global Position

Beyond the products on display, Busworld Türkiye 2026 demonstrated the strength of Turkey’s broader public transport ecosystem. The event has expanded considerably in recent years, attracting growing participation from international manufacturers, suppliers and transport stakeholders.

Turkey today serves not only as a production base for buses and coaches but also as an important engineering, technology and export centre supplying markets across Europe and beyond. The combination of strong domestic manufacturers, an extensive supplier network and increasing investment in sustainable mobility technologies continues to strengthen the country’s position in the global transportation landscape.

As public transport systems worldwide move towards cleaner, smarter and more efficient operations, Busworld Türkiye 2026 has shown that Turkey is playing an increasingly important role in shaping that future.
