Brasil Auto Parts puts spotlight on home-grown auto comp suppliers’ capabilities

Brazil is one of the most popular destinations for vehicle OEMs to set up manufacturing base in South America, with a total of 26 manufacturers and assemblers of trucks, buses and cars spread across the country. Brasil Auto Parts is an export promotion project coordinated by Sindipeças (The Brazilian Association of Automotive Components Manufacturers) and promoted by Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency). The project has a mission to foster export performance and globalization of Brazilian auto parts manufacturers. The auto parts umbrella body has been a regular participant at Automechanika Dubai, making yet another appearance in the latest edition of the show this year.

Fernanda Garavello, Export Promotion Analyst, Brasil Auto Parts

In an exclusive chat with MOTORINDIA, Fernanda Garavello, Export Promotion Analyst, Brasil Auto Parts, said: “We are here at Automechanika Dubai 2021 to show that the Brazilian industry is very strong with robust presence in parts for heavy and light commercial vehicles. On the passenger car side too, we have a population of over 46 million vehicles and have good capabilities on the supplier side. Brasil Auto Parts represents over 500 Brazilian manufacturers of which 8 are present here, all of whom are aftermarket parts producers.”

The main aim of the brands exhibiting under the Brasil Auto Parts pavilion was to “understand the market trends and dynamics in the Middle East region, identify potential distribution partners and explore export opportunities into Middle East and Africa which are key markets”, added Fernanda.
