ALP Overseas Pvt. Ltd. leveraged its presence at Prawaas 5.0 to showcase its expanding capabilities for the bus industry, highlighting new product developments, lightweight solutions, and upcoming international collaborations aimed at strengthening its position as a comprehensive supplier for OEMs and bus body builders.
The company reported strong engagement at the exhibition, attracting enquiries from leading OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers while interacting with senior leadership from major commercial vehicle manufacturers. Building on its legacy in EPDM rubber beading, ALP is broadening its portfolio with ABS thermoforming, injection moulding and blow moulding technologies to meet the evolving needs of the bus segment.
“Prawaas 5.0 has been an excellent platform for us. We received very encouraging enquiries from OEMs, Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers and had the opportunity to engage with senior leadership across the industry. The response clearly reflects the growing demand for advanced lightweight solutions,” said Rajesh Arora, Head (Sales & Marketing), ALP Overseas Pvt. Ltd.
Among the key highlights at the show was the company’s range of ABS thermoformed dashboards developed for buses, including applications for Ashok Leyland and Volvo-based platforms built by leading bus body manufacturers. ALP also showcased its expertise in blow moulding and thermoforming while underlining its role as a single-source supplier for the complete cabin assembly of the Mahindra Thar.

A major announcement at the exhibition was ALP’s upcoming joint venture with Turkey-based Farplas to strengthen its offerings in advanced automotive plastics. The company also revealed plans for a partnership with Italy’s MP3 to manufacture acrylic PMMA ABS sheets in India, reinforcing its strategy of bringing global technologies to the domestic market.
“We are expanding far beyond our traditional product range. Our collaborations with technology partners from Turkey and Italy will help us bring world-class materials and manufacturing capabilities to India while offering customers localized, cost-effective solutions,” he said.

The company also highlighted the industry’s transition from FRP components to ABS solutions, driven by evolving regulations and the need for lighter, safer and more durable vehicle structures. According to ALP, lightweight components play a crucial role in improving vehicle efficiency, particularly as buses transition towards electric and hydrogen-powered platforms.
“The market is rapidly embracing new technologies. OEMs and operators today recognise the value of lightweight, high-quality components that improve efficiency and performance, especially as the industry moves towards electrification and alternative fuels,” he noted.

Commenting on policy, Rajesh suggested that faster implementation and greater clarity in regulations would enable manufacturers to respond more effectively to changing market requirements and accelerate industry growth.
Looking ahead, ALP plans to strengthen its focus on the bus body segment by offering a broader range of localized products that reduce dependence on imports while helping customers lower vehicle weight and improve overall quality.
