ZEISS, a global leader in optical and precision measurement technologies, has inaugurated its seventh Quality Excellence Center (QEC) in India, located in Hyderabad. The new facility strengthens ZEISS’s commitment to advancing precision engineering, particularly in aerospace and high-tech manufacturing. The inauguration took place in the presence of Praveen P. A., Director of Aerospace, Defence & Logistics, Government of Telangana, along with senior leaders from ZEISS India.

Spread across 4,500 sq. ft., with an additional 1,500 sq. ft. reserved for future expansion, the Hyderabad QEC houses ZEISS’s most advanced industrial metrology solutions including coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical and X-ray inspection systems, 3D scanners, surface and form measurement tools, and specialised software. For aerospace applications, the center features the flagship ZEISS PRISMO CMM with blade rotary measurement and ZEISS Aerofoil software—technology tailored for high-performance turbine and aero-engine manufacturing.
Mr. Aveen Padmaprabha, Business Head – Industrial Quality Solutions, ZEISS India & Neighbouring Markets, said, “Automation and Industry 4.0 go hand in hand—that is where the future of manufacturing lies. Hyderabad is strategic for us due to its strong aerospace presence and fast-growing medical device ecosystem. Through this QEC, we want to be closer to our customers and showcase solutions designed for Quality 4.0 and Manufacturing 4.0.”
The center will also serve as a collaborative platform for industry, academia, and startups, offering pay-per-use access to advanced equipment and enabling R&D partnerships. ZEISS PiWEB and AI-enabled features will support digital quality management and traceability across production environments.
Government representatives highlighted the significance of ZEISS’s investment for Telangana’s aerospace ambitions. “Investments in aerospace are a top priority for the Government of Telangana. ZEISS setting up this technology center reinforces Hyderabad’s growing position as a global manufacturing hub,” said Mr. Praveen.
With southern India witnessing rapid growth in aerospace, electronics, and advanced manufacturing, the new QEC supports India’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions by enabling world-class quality and precision engineering from within the country.
