Truck Application Special – TIVA

Tata International Vehicle Applications (TIVA) is shaping India’s commercial vehicle landscape through a blend of innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric solutions. CEO Rajeev Batra highlights the company’s strong financial growth and adaptability in overcoming industry challenges, particularly the presence of an unorganized trailer sector. With the commercial vehicle industry experiencing steady expansion and the trailer segment projected to grow at 10% CAGR, TIVA is well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities. “Our ability to innovate while meeting stringent regulations has strengthened our market presence and enhanced customer satisfaction,” Batra affirms.

TIVA’s diverse business model spans collaborations with OEMs like Tata Motors, direct engagement with fleet operators, and specialized defense contracts. The company’s trailers comply with ARAI and AIS 113 standards, offering high-strength materials and enhanced payload capacity. Notably, recent product launches such as the 32CBM Triple Axle Tip Trailer and the 32FT Triple Axle Side Wall Trailer provide increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness. “Our products not only enhance operational efficiency but also simplify maintenance and reduce costs, empowering our customers to navigate an evolving landscape,” says Batra.

A key differentiator for TIVA is its commitment to sustainability, exemplified by its Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF), capable of dismantling up to 21,000 vehicles annually. This aligns with India’s scrappage policy, addressing the expected rise of end-of-life vehicles beyond 21 million by 2025. “By extracting high-quality steel, we align with the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and reduce carbon footprints through a self-sufficient recycling ecosystem,” explains Batra. TIVA’s partnerships with steelmakers further enhance its sustainability and cost-efficiency efforts, reinforcing its leadership in responsible manufacturing.

Operational excellence is a cornerstone of TIVA’s strategy, supported by vertically integrated manufacturing capabilities and a robust nationwide service network. With facilities in Ajmer, Jamshedpur, and Pune, the company has ramped up production capacity to 900 trailers monthly. As India’s largest trailer manufacturer, TIVA continues to invest in cutting-edge technology and stringent quality protocols. Looking ahead, Batra envisions expanding vehicle scrapping operations, promoting road safety, and strengthening global market presence, emphasizing, “Guided by our customer-first philosophy, we aim to drive innovation, strengthen our product lineup, and support sustainable practices.”
