The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) put the spotlight on India’s fast-advancing sustainable mobility ecosystem at the 4th edition of India Energy Week (IEW) 2026, held from 27–30 January at ONGC’s Advanced Training Institute in Goa. A dedicated Sustainable Mobility Pavilion, visited by Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, showcased how the automobile industry is gearing up to support India’s decarbonisation goals.

Located in Hall No. 3, the pavilion featured 16 production-ready vehicles and technologies across a wide spectrum of cleaner fuel and powertrain options — including electric, gas, hydrogen and biofuels. Major SIAM member OEMs such as Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Motors, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, TVS Motor, Bajaj Auto, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Kia India, Switch Mobility and Suzuki Motorcycle India participated, demonstrating the sector’s unified commitment to greener mobility pathways.

Mr. Prashant K Banerjee, Executive Director, SIAM, emphasised that India’s mobility transition must be multi-fuel and multi-powertrain. “Given our scale, diversity and energy priorities, a single solution cannot drive the shift. Electric mobility, biofuels, gas, hydrogen and cleaner ICE technologies must progress in parallel to balance energy security, air quality, affordability and self-reliance,” he said.
India Energy Week 2026 — the country’s flagship energy exhibition and conference — brought together more than 75,000 professionals, 700+ global exhibitors from over 120 countries, and senior leaders including ministers, policymakers, innovators and investors. The platform underscores India’s role in shaping a secure, sustainable and affordable global energy future through technology, partnerships and forward-looking investments.
