SIAM and Delhi Traffic Police Lead Road Safety Walk to Inspire Responsible Young Road Users

As part of National Road Safety Month (1–31 January), the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), in collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police, organised a Road Safety Walk at the Delhi Traffic Police Training Park, Baba Kharak Singh Marg.

The walk began at the Training Park, made its way around the Connaught Place Circle, and returned to the starting point. More than 1,200 school students from across Delhi joined the initiative, along with over 100 members of the Brahma Kumaris. Participants were briefed on road discipline, traffic rules, and the importance of responsible behaviour to help build safer roads for all.

The event was flagged off by Mr. Satyavir Katara, Additional Commissioner of Police, Delhi Traffic Police, in the presence of Mr. Prashant K. Banerjee, Executive Director, SIAM, and other dignitaries. Organised under SIAM’s ‘सुरक्षित सफर (Safe Journey)’ initiative, the program continues to receive strong CSR support from SIAM member companies, further strengthening nationwide road safety efforts.

Speaking at the event, Chief Guest Mr. Satyavir Katara said that instilling road safety habits in children is the most effective way to create disciplined road users for the future. He appreciated SIAM’s ongoing efforts and called the Road Safety Walk a meaningful step toward safer roads.

Mr. Prashant K. Banerjee added that building a culture of road safety starts with early education and mutual respect on the road. He emphasised that initiatives like the Road Safety Walk help young students and road users understand their responsibility in creating safer mobility for all.
