SANY showcases 39 machines at EXCON 2025; electric blue takes centre stage

At EXCON 2025, Sany Heavy Industry India Pvt Ltd made a strong statement around scale, technology and sustainability by displaying 39 machines across mining, road and highway construction, material handling and logistics. Spread across a large pavilion, the exhibit featured excavators, loaders, cranes, forklifts, mining trucks and heavy-duty tractor trailers. What clearly stood out was the growing presence of SANY’s electric portfolio, identified by its distinct blue colour, signalling the company’s accelerating shift towards energy-efficient and low-emission solutions.

Speaking on the sidelines of the show, Mr. Sanjay Saxena, Chief Operating Officer – India & South Asia, said that the transition on display was the result of sustained engineering focus over the last several years. “Energy efficiency and technology innovation have been central to our product planning. At this EXCON, we are introducing a much wider set of battery-driven and electric machines across segments,” Mr. Saxena said. He added that out of the total display, 10 machines were electric, underlining how quickly the portfolio is evolving.

Among the electric highlights were a 70-tonne electric mining truck, a heavy-duty electric tractor trailer for highway applications, battery-powered forklifts, loaders, cranes and excavators. According to Mr. Saxena, this marked a clear shift from the previous edition of the show. “If you compare the last EXCON to this one, the most visible change is the scale of electric machines we are presenting. These blue machines reflect where the market and our customers are headed,” he noted. The company’s approach, he explained, is not limited to battery power alone but also includes cable-driven and application-specific energy-efficient solutions.

Growth across mining and foundations; confidence for FY26

Reflecting on business performance, Mr. Saxena said FY25 had been a positive year for SANY India, particularly in specialised segments. The company recorded healthy growth in foundation equipment and mining machinery, supported by steady project activity and customer investments.
“In FY25, we have seen growth of around 15 to 20 percent in segments like mining and piling. These are application-intensive areas where productivity and uptime matter the most,” Mr. Saxena said. He also pointed out that the heavy-duty electric tractor trailer showcased at EXCON is now moving from demonstration to regular deployment.

Looking ahead to FY26, SANY expects momentum to continue, driven by infrastructure announcements and project awards. Mining and ports are expected to remain the key focus areas. “With the projects being announced and new contracts coming up, mining will continue to be strong. We also see very good growth potential in port applications,” Mr. Saxena explained. He added that these sectors demand high-capacity machines and predictable lifecycle costs, areas where SANY believes its portfolio is well positioned.

The emphasis, however, is not only on selling machines but on building long-term application capability. Mr. Saxena said SANY’s planning for FY26 is closely aligned with customer operating realities rather than just headline volumes. “Our focus is on where machines work the hardest. If we can deliver productivity and reliability there, growth follows naturally,” he said.

Service, logistics electrification and a long-term promise

Customer support and service infrastructure form the other pillar of SANY’s India strategy. Mr. Saxena highlighted that the company has recently commissioned a nearly 10-acre central warehouse in Pune to strengthen spare parts availability across regions. “This central warehouse will significantly improve parts reach and response time. Service has always been a priority for us and this is a major step in that direction,” he said.

Alongside this, SANY is expanding full maintenance contracts, especially for mining and port customers, offering single-window responsibility and assured machine availability.

On the logistics side, the electric tractor trailer with a swappable battery system has generated strong interest. Introduced during FY25, the vehicle is already seeing deployment with logistics operators exploring a shift away from diesel. “The response has been encouraging. Operators are seeing operating cost savings in line with expectations, which gives us confidence about the future of this product,” Mr. Saxena said. He added that customer feedback from real-world operations is now shaping further refinements.

Summing up SANY’s message to EXCON visitors, Mr. Saxena reiterated the company’s long-term commitment to technology, productivity and national priorities. “Every EXCON, customers see a clear step forward in our technology. We remain committed to the Make in India vision and to offering more productive machines at a reasonable cost,” he said. He concluded by noting that SANY will continue to enhance its customer support offerings year after year, ensuring that innovation on the shopfloor is matched by reliability in the field.
