In a significant move to promote gender inclusion in India’s construction sector, SANY India has facilitated the first-ever all-women batch of excavator operators at the National Academy of Construction (NAC) in Andhra Pradesh. The pioneering group of 22 women trainees successfully completed their certification in March 2026, coinciding with International Women’s Day and highlighting the programme’s focus on women’s empowerment and skill development.

The trainees underwent a comprehensive training programme conducted on the SANY SY120 excavator, with the machine provided by SANY India to support practical, industry-oriented learning. The training syllabus was designed by SANY India to align with global standards and real-world operational requirements. In addition, NAC trainers received specialized training and certification from SANY India to ensure high-quality instruction for the participants.
Upon completing the programme, the trainees received certification under the Infrastructure Equipment Skill Council (IESC) framework, enhancing their employment prospects across infrastructure and construction projects. NAC will also provide placement assistance to help the graduates transition into professional roles within the sector.

The certificate handover ceremony took place on 6 March 2026 at NAC-AP in Pulivendula, Kadapa district, Andhra Pradesh. The event marked the successful completion of the first batch and celebrated the trainees’ entry into a field traditionally dominated by men.
Mr. Madhusudan Katragadda, Dealer Principal of Madhura Engineering Pvt. Ltd., attended the ceremony as the chief guest and presented certificates to the trainees. Speaking at the event, he praised the initiative taken by SANY India and NAC, noting that such programmes play an important role in opening new opportunities for women in the construction equipment industry. He encouraged the trainees to continue building their skills and explore wider career possibilities in areas such as operations, sales and service engineering.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Sanjay Saxena, Chief Operating Officer of SANY India, said the programme reflects the company’s commitment to inclusive growth and nation-building. He noted that by equipping women with advanced skills and recognized certification, the initiative not only supports individual career development but also strengthens the country’s construction ecosystem.
The event was also attended by Mr. Rakesh Mekala, Assistant Director of the National Academy of Construction in Kadapa district, along with NAC faculty members and representatives from SANY India. The ceremony concluded on an encouraging note, marking an important step toward greater gender diversity and inclusive skill development within India’s growing infrastructure sector.
