The Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, virtually inaugurated Mahindra Tractor’s Skill Development Centre in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra, from Mumbai. This milestone initiative by Mahindra Tractors, India’s No. 1 tractor brand, is aimed at empowering rural youth by equipping them with industry-relevant skills and opening new pathways for employment in the region.
The centre has been established by Mahindra Tractors at the Government ITI College in Gadchiroli, in collaboration with the Department of Vocational Education & Training (DVET) and the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS). It reflects a shared commitment to advancing rural skilling and driving inclusive economic growth.
Aligned with the national focus on skill development as a key driver of India’s demographic advantage, the centre will train young people from Gadchiroli in practical, industry-ready skills related to tractor manufacturing, maintenance, and operations. Equipped with modern machinery and guided by expert trainers, participants will gain hands-on experience designed to prepare them for diverse roles across the agricultural machinery ecosystem—from assembly at manufacturing plants to sales and service positions at dealership networks.
