Pioneer India, a subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation, a global leader in automotive electronics and mobility solutions, has inaugurated its new Research & Development (R&D) Center in Bengaluru, reinforcing its global strategy to expand innovation capabilities and accelerate next-generation mobility solutions.

This milestone follows the company’s 2023 announcement to establish a dedicated R&D presence in India. The new Bengaluru center is designed to drive end-to-end development across smart, connected, and safe mobility technologies, serving both local and international markets.
The center will collaborate closely with Pioneer’s global network of R&D facilities, with a focus on:
- Automotive Vision & Sensing (dash cams, digital mirrors, 360° vision systems)
- Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
- Digital Cockpit & Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI)
- Cloud-Connected Infotainment & Telematics
- AI & Mobility Data Platforms
- Connected Solutions for Two-Wheelers (navigation displays, safety alerts, SOS features)
Supporting OEMs, the aftermarket, and B2B segments such as fleet operators and insurance providers, the center will also deliver region-specific solutions for Indian manufacturers with faster development cycles.
Shiro Yahara, President and CEO, Pioneer Corporation, highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion, stating that India’s deep talent pool and dynamic mobility ecosystem make it a key location to drive innovation in vehicle intelligence, vision, and connectivity.
Siva Subramanian, PhD, CEO of Pioneer Mobility AI & Connectivity Company (MAC), added that the company is building a world-class R&D team in India to lead development across camera systems, digital cockpits, and cloud-based platforms—pushing the frontier of future mobility solutions for both Indian and global markets.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior global and regional leadership, including Aniket Kulkarni, Managing Director – Pioneer India, and Manish Bhasin, Vice President – R&D, Pioneer India. Both reiterated Pioneer’s commitment to supporting Indian automotive OEMs with fully integrated hardware and software platforms tailored for the evolving mobility landscape.
The state-of-the-art Bengaluru facility features dedicated labs for camera testing, embedded systems, electronics, and software validation, alongside collaborative workspaces designed to foster agile, cross-functional product development.
As part of its expansion strategy, Pioneer is actively hiring across multiple engineering domains in India, including embedded software, computer vision, mobile integration, cloud connectivity, and AI. The company plans to significantly scale its R&D workforce in the coming months.
The move aligns with Pioneer’s global vision of “Creating the Future of Mobility Experiences”, with an emphasis on Sound, Safety, Security, Comfort, and Convenience.
Since its inception in 2008, Pioneer India Electronics Pvt. Ltd. has built a strong market presence with a wide portfolio of in-car entertainment systems, dash cameras, speakers, subwoofers, and accessories tailored for Indian consumers. With R&D centers now operational in Gurugram and Bengaluru, the company also plans to begin local manufacturing of in-car products in 2026, establishing a complete value chain—R&D, production, and support—within India, and reinforcing its long-term commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
