Masats, a leading manufacturer of access systems for passenger vehicles, is showcasing two major innovations at Busworld 2025 in Brussels.
This year’s exhibition marks a technological milestone for the company: the world premiere of Artificial Intelligence applied to passenger access systems and the debut of the 028e single-leaf sliding door, both designed to enhance operational efficiency, passenger experience, and vehicle design.
#AIDA: AI-driven access – A Smarter Way to Board
Masats is presenting a live demonstration of its new AI-powered access solution integrated into a double sliding door system. This breakthrough technology uses artificial intelligence to:
• Optimize passenger flow
• Improve on-board safety
• Reduce dwell times
• Facilitate access for people with special needs
“Our AI system represents a new generation of intelligent access — proactive, responsive, and safer,” said Ignacio Elburgo, CEO at Masats.
PIS-L Information System
This AI feature is being shown incorporated into the Dual Sliding Door, which also includes the PIS-L System, the LED Passenger Information System, indicating when it is safe to board the vehicle. This information system is featured in both doors and ramps, enabling comprehensive and safe access for passengers.
028e Sliding Door: Compact Design, Maximum Flow
Also debuting at Busworld is the new 028e single-leaf sliding door — a quick, space-saving system engineered to provide:
• Wider, faster passenger access
• 10% lighter weight, improving the energy efficiency of the bus
• Increased internal space for vehicle layout optimization
• Reduced door footprint without compromising performance
The 028e is designed to improve both vehicle efficiency and passenger comfort, particularly in high-frequency urban and intercity operations.
New Ramp Solutions for Inclusive Mobility
In line with its commitment to accessibility, Masats is also presenting two of its latest models:
• RD1 Dual Ramp – Combines manual and electric devices in one unit, ensuring uninterrupted accessibility in any situation.
• RE2b Wider Ramp – Designed to offer safer, more comfortable access for passengers with reduced mobility, while improving accessibility and service agility.
These new ramps are intended to enhance autonomy for users and simplify maintenance and integration for vehicle operators.
