Mahindra & Mahindra, the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume, unveiled a full range of alternate fuel tractors and green technologies at Agrovision 2025 in Nagpur. The showcase was attended by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, and Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare.

At the event, Mahindra presented three major innovations designed to accelerate India’s transition to clean and efficient farm mechanisation:
The new CNG/CBG tractor, built on the Yuvo Tech+ platform, can run on CNG, compressed biogas (CBG), and dual fuel (diesel–CNG). A new ethanol flex-fuel engine capable of operating on ethanol derived from sugarcane, maize, crop stubble, and various farm residues. An electric tractor based on the Mahindra OJA global platform, offering lower operating costs, higher torque, improved efficiency, and fast-charging capability.
All these technologies have been developed at Mahindra Research Valley (MRV), Chennai, leveraging the company’s long-standing expertise in engine innovation. Mahindra said these breakthroughs also align with India’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.
Mr. Veejay Nakra, President, Farm Equipment Business, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “Mahindra is committed to leading India’s shift to alternate fuel technologies. The machines we are showcasing today reflect our vision for cleaner, smarter, and sustainable farming solutions for the future.”
Mahindra highlighted that achieving net-zero in agriculture requires widespread adoption of alternate fuels such as CNG, CBG, ethanol, biofuels, and electric power. The company has already developed and displayed several such technologies in recent years, including pioneering CNG and CBG tractors.
At Agrovision, Mahindra also showcased a wide range of its diesel tractors across 2WD and 4WD categories, along with farm implements from both Mahindra and Swaraj brands, reinforcing its position as a leader in accessible and advanced farm mechanisation.
