IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 sees Strong Exhibitor Growth and Rising Global Participation

IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026, scheduled from September 15 – 20 in Hannover, is already recording strong exhibitor momentum. Companies across the commercial vehicle, transport and logistics ecosystem will showcase next-generation mobility, logistics and infrastructure solutions, underlining sustained industry confidence.

Registrations are currently around 11 percent higher than the comparable period in January 2024, with several exhibition halls already partially overbooked. International participation remains at a record 70 percent, with particularly strong representation from China, Turkey and Italy. Notably, 23 percent of registered exhibitors will be first-time participants, reinforcing the event’s expanding global relevance.

Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director of the VDA, noted that the strong global response demonstrates the industry’s commitment to shaping a sustainable future for commercial vehicles and transport. He added that after setting new benchmarks in 2024, the industry is returning in 2026 to once again showcase its innovation strength.

Return of Major OEMs and New Entrants

IAA TRANSPORTATION 2026 will see the return of Renault Trucks and Mercedes-Benz Vans, both confirming dedicated participation. They will join leading truck manufacturers including BYD, DAF Trucks, Daimler Truck, Dongfeng, Ford, Ford Trucks, KIA, MAN Truck & Bus, MAXUS, Scania, VW Commercial Vehicles and Volvo Trucks.

Among the new participants are e-van manufacturer FLEXIS, development partner IAV, suppliers such as Igus and Stoneridge, and charging infrastructure provider Zerova.

Suppliers and Body Builders Lead Participation

Suppliers currently form the largest exhibitor segment. Confirmed participants include AUMOVIO, Robert Bosch, BPW Bergische Achsen, Daikin, Horse Power Train, MAHLE, Rupf Automotive, WISTRA and ZF Group.

Body manufacturers are also strongly represented, with companies such as Fliegl Fahrzeugbau, JOST-Werke Germany, Junge Fahrzeugbau, Kässbohrer, Kögel Trailer, Krone Trailer, Meiller Kipper, Meusburger Fahrzeugbau, Spier and Schmitz Cargobull set to present their portfolios.

Expanded Formats and Experience-Led Engagement

The IAA Conference remains a core pillar, offering insights from global industry leaders without requiring an additional ticket. Alongside the Main Stage, an Industry Stage will be dedicated exclusively to exhibitors. Key themes will include fleet electrification, charging infrastructure, automated transport, AI and hydrogen solutions. A dedicated Startup Area will spotlight emerging innovators.

The IAA Experience will provide hands-on engagement through:

– Supervised test drives of low- and zero-emission light and heavy commercial vehicles and buses
– ADAS and telematics demonstrations
– A dedicated Cargobike Parcours
– A shuttle bus service across exhibition halls using the latest vehicle innovations

The preliminary exhibitor list is expected in June 2026, with visitor ticket sales and media accreditation opening in April.
