Reinforcing India’s ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, Greenfuel Energy Solutions, part of Lumax Auto Technologies Limited (LATL), has inaugurated a state-of-the-art ferrule-less tube and fitting manufacturing line at its Manesar facility by the senior leadership team of Maruti Suzuki India.
Greenfuel has invested ₹25 crore in the current phase of the project, with an additional investment of ₹50 crore planned over the next four to five years. The newly commissioned line has the capacity to support approximately 100,000 vehicles, with commercial production ramping up in phases based on customer qualification and market demand. The investment directly contributes to domestic capability building, skilled job creation, and long-term industrial development, aligned with national manufacturing priorities.
Through the localisation of ferrule-less tubes and fittings for CNG vehicles, Greenfuel brings globally proven technology to India. The torque-tightened, mass-production-ready solution ensures consistent assembly torque, repeatable quality, and enhanced safety, while delivering cost efficiencies by eliminating import duties, freight costs, and foreign-exchange exposure.

The commissioning of this facility marks a significant milestone in the localisation of a critical automotive technology that was previously fully imported. It strengthens India’s domestic manufacturing capabilities for automotive and alternate-fuel platforms, while reducing reliance on global supply chains.

For OEMs and fleet operators, this Made-in-India capability translates into lower total cost of ownership, faster access to components, predictable pricing, and assured supply continuity as key enablers as the industry scales adoption of alternate-fuel solutions.

We have successfully indigenised it in India in collaboration with our long-standing German partner, WEH Gas Tech, a relationship spanning nearly two decades. While the core line was sourced from Germany, it has been adapted and optimised for Indian operating conditions, combining global credibility with local engineering expertise,” he further added.
The new manufacturing line enhances Greenfuel’s ability to respond to OEM requirements with greater speed, consistency, and scalability. It also reflects Lumax Auto Technologies’ disciplined approach to expanding high-value manufacturing capabilities aligned with long-term industry demand.
