Bishop Scott Group of Schools has, since its inception, evolved into one of Patna’s most respected and forward-looking educational institutions – a model that blends academic excellence with operational discipline and strong community values. Established in 2011 with Bishop Scott Girls’ School and later expanded to include senior-secondary and boys’ schools, the group today serves around 5,000 students with a staff strength of nearly 550. Its steady rise has been driven by a mission to provide quality education that is accessible, well-governed and future-ready. This same philosophy extends beyond classrooms – into the way the institution manages safety and transport – where a trusted partnership with Eicher has played a vital role in reinforcing the school’s reputation for reliability and care.

People and Legacy
The inception of the Bishop Scott Group of Schools traces back to 2009 with the establishment of Bishop Scott Girls’ School, the founding institution of the group. The school earned its affiliation to the CBSE 10+2 curriculum in 2011, marking the beginning of a journey grounded in academic excellence and moral purpose.
The foundation of Bishop Scott was laid by Late Shailesh Prasad Singh, a visionary educationist whose leadership ideals continue to guide the institution. His alliance with Mr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Founder and Chairman, brought together two inspired minds who believed that when moral and selfless leaders stand at the forefront, their actions elevate society toward higher ideals of integrity, empathy, and purpose. Together, they envisioned Bishop Scott as a nest of leadership and learning – a space where education nurtures both intellect and character.
Mr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, Chairman of Bishop Scott Girls’ and Bishop Scott Boys’ Schools, continues to embody this vision. His commitment, foresight, and enduring passion for education reflect in every milestone the schools achieve.
Supporting this legacy, Ms. Arti Singh, Chairperson of Bishop Scott Senior Secondary Girls’ School and Vice-Chairperson of Bishop Scott Girls’ School, has been instrumental in shaping the group’s foundation. As the wife of Late Shailesh Prasad Singh, she has carried forward his dream with steadfast dedication and grace. Likewise, Mrs. Neera Singh, wife of Mr. Abhishek Kumar Singh, has been a pillar of strength and a guiding light, offering wisdom and resilience through every phase of growth.
Expanding upon its vision, the group inaugurated Bishop Scott Senior Secondary Girls’ School and Bishop Scott Boys’ School in 2015 – both of which have since been affiliated with the CBSE 10+2 curriculum.
The group’s financial stewardship rests in the capable hands of Mr. Achyut Singh, Director of Finance, whose integrity, prudence, and expertise form the fiscal backbone of the institution. His unwavering candour and humility mirror the group’s core ethos.
Mrs. Nutan Singh, Director of Public Relations and Administration, brings a rare blend of empathy, culture, and administrative acumen to her role, harmonizing the group’s community presence with its operational excellence.
Dr. Shalini Singh, Director of Human Resources and Marketing, leads with vitality and precision, driving the group’s people and brand strategies with professionalism and innovation. Her dynamic leadership fosters a culture of growth, collaboration, and accountability across all campuses.
Mrs. Mrigya Singh, Director of Legal and Operations, oversees the group’s day-to-day functioning with meticulous attention to detail, strategic insight, and a forward-looking vision that aligns with the evolving needs of modern education.
Together, this dynamic leadership has shaped the Bishop Scott Group of Schools into a beacon of quality education – one that nurtures knowledge, character, and leadership in equal measure

Academic Performance and Positioning
Bishop Scott has prioritised academic rigour alongside co-curricular strength. Abhishek underlines the results record as a core differentiator – “our 10th-grade results are a source of pride,” he says, noting a state topper from the girls’ school who secured 99.2% and that “more than 60% of our 10th-graders score over 90%.” The schools also deliver in sports and state-level competitions; most recently, a girl student was selected for the Bihar state cricket team.
Fleet Scale and Operational Metrics
Transport is a strategic pillar for Bishop Scott and a visible part of the parent promise. The group manages roughly 110 buses and about 25 smaller vehicles. Of the bus fleet, approximately 41 units are Eicher CNG AC buses while they also have some units of Eicher CNG non-AC and diesel buses. Typical route legs run 20–25 km, and buses generally do multiple trips daily – passenger density averages 40–50 students per bus depending on route and seat configuration.
Eicher Partnership – Uptime, Safety and After-sales
The partnership with Eicher represents far more than a vehicle supply relationship – it embodies Bishop Scott’s philosophy of aligning technology, safety and sustainability to its educational mission. Abhishek describes the collaboration as “a relationship built on trust and performance,” adding that the shift to Eicher’s CNG–AC buses has been pivotal in redefining both student experience and environmental responsibility. “Eicher has helped us make student transport safer, cleaner and more efficient,” he says. “For a school like ours, where every child’s safety and comfort matter, this partnership goes beyond logistics – it’s part of our educational ecosystem.”
Under this partnership, Bishop Scott operates 41 Eicher CNG AC buses as part of its 110-strong fleet – each chosen for its balance of comfort, fuel efficiency and reliability. It also has Eicher CNG non-AC buses and Eicher diesel buses in its fleet. Abhishek highlights that Eicher’s maintenance support and dealer proximity have transformed fleet management economics. “Earlier, our servicing centre was located far away; now, with an authorised Eicher dealer nearby, maintenance is faster, economical and predictable,” he notes. The result: higher uptime, lower operating costs and reduced driver fatigue. For Abhishek, such operational reliability directly influences parental confidence. “Parents trust us to ensure their children’s safety every day – Eicher’s consistent after-sales support allows us to uphold that trust,” he adds.
With robust fire-safety systems, GPS and VLTD-based tracking, and a panic-button mechanism integrated across buses, Bishop Scott’s fleet operates under a digital safety net that keeps parents informed in real time. Abhishek sums it up succinctly: “We see Eicher as a long-term mobility partner, not just a bus supplier. Their engineering precision, their service culture, and their focus on safety mirror our own values – accountability and care.”
Ergonomics and ride quality matter for the school segment. The Eicher 31-seater AC vehicle delivers a favourable turning radius and cabin comfort that suit Patna’s varied road widths, while ergonomic seating and effective air-conditioning contribute to a quiet, clean commute for pupils and crew alike, he adds with a satisfied smile.
Training and Governance
The school’s focus on safety extends well beyond hardware – it is built on consistent, people-centric training. Bishop Scott regularly conducts driver and conductor training programmes in partnership with Eicher, covering fuel-efficient driving techniques, clutch management, and safe driving practices for school environments. “Whenever we request, the Eicher training team comes immediately,” Abhishek shares. “They don’t treat it as an obligation; they treat it as a responsibility.”
These sessions are complemented by first-aid and emergency-response training delivered through an NGO tie-up, ensuring that every driver can handle medical or on-road contingencies with confidence. Abhishek underscores that this 360-degree approach – combining Eicher’s technical inputs with social preparedness – has raised the operational maturity of the entire transport function. “Our drivers today understand that they are caretakers of lives, not just vehicles,” he notes. “That culture has come in because our partners, like Eicher, also believe in it.”
CapEx, Expansion and Franchises
Bishop Scott currently has 54 AC buses and aims to grow the AC-bus fleet to roughly 110 units over the next 2–3 years, adding 10–15 buses annually depending on admission trends. This measured, demand-led capex approach balances service coverage with liquidity.
Strategically, Bishop Scott is moving to a mixed expansion model – direct campuses supported by a franchising play. The group has secured trademark protection in Bihar and partnered with a Bengaluru firm to systematise a franchise rollout – curriculum blueprints, training modules, admin manuals and a standardised fee schedule. Early franchising conversations are underway in districts such as Siwan and Bettiah; parallel to K–12 scale, the group launched a premium pre-school linked to Finnish early-years pedagogy.
Outlook and Purpose
Bishop Scott is executing a classic systematisation strategy – consolidate outcomes, industrialise transport and safety through OEM partnerships, and then scale the operating model geographically through franchising. Abhishek is candid about the personal reward of the work: “It gives an immense satisfaction; being an educationalist, you are creating the future of the country.” That sense of societal contribution – coupled with pragmatic fleet economics and the Eicher alliance – frames Bishop Scott’s forward plan: deepen service reliability, complete the AC-fleet transition and replicate the model to broaden educational access across Bihar.
