Ashok Leyland, the flagship commercial vehicle company of the Hinduja Group, along with Switch Mobility and Tamil NRIs based in the United States, on Wednesday gifted a double-decker bus to the Tamil Nadu Tourism Department, reinforcing their shared commitment to sustainable urban and tourist mobility.
The new double-decker tourism bus service was inaugurated in Chennai by Mr. M. K. Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The service is designed to connect the city’s iconic landmarks and heritage locations, offering residents and visitors a unique, immersive way to experience Chennai’s rich cultural and architectural legacy.
The initiative aims to enhance the city’s tourism offering while promoting modern, environmentally responsible public transport solutions. By combining heritage-focused tourism with contemporary mobility concepts, the service is expected to add a new dimension to urban sightseeing in the state capital.
