MOTORINDIA got the opportunity to first experience Mobileye’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at Auto Expo Component Show. “The new product scans the road ahead for potential hazards, providing the driver with timely warning and helping to prevent accidents in real time. Until now such systems have been available in India only to owners of high-end vehicles,” said Michael Hirsh, Regional Sales Manager, India, Mobileye Aftermarket Division, Mobileye Vision Technologies Ltd.

Chartered NextGen Solutions has appointed Mobileye as aftermarket partner for India. The company will now be distributing the aftermarket collision avoidance system in India, thereby making the life-saving ADAS technologies available to all Indian motorists and fleet operators as an aftermarket retrofit that may be installed in cars, light commercial vehicles, buses and trucks.

“Mobileye is the global leader in vision-based ADAS. Mobileye’s technology keeps passengers safer on the roads, reduces the risks of traffic accidents, saves lives and has the potential to revolutionize the driving experience by enabling autonomous driving,” said Sanjay Srivastava, Director, Chartered NextGen Solutions Pvt. Ltd.

The system provides forward collision warning, lane departure warning, headway monitoring & warning, daytime pedestrian & cyclist collision warning and speed-limit indication.

In addition, the Mobileye Shield+™ system for buses and trucks offers extra protection for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists in the vicinity of large vehicles, together with invaluable “Big Data” that maps danger hotspots all over urban areas.

Indian automobile OEMs can avail these solutions inbuilt in their vehicle at the time of production. Globally around 90 per cent of car manufacturing company are using Mobileye ADAS as a standard feature.
