Modi lauds SVLL ‘Driver’s Day’ campaign

CSR initiative being celebrated on September 17 every year

Siddhi Vinayak Logistic Ltd. (SVLL), one of the fastest growing road transportation and logistics companies in India, has initiated the “Driver’s Day” campaign, a one-of-its-kind CSR initiative in appreciation of truck drivers who are the backbone of the road logistics industry. Driver’s Day was first celebrated in 2013.

The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, has not only acknowledged the Driver’s Day, buy has wished SVLL all success and recognized the company’s commendable effort to create an event for the drivers.

Comments the Prime Minister: “It gives me great pleasure that SVLL has taken a step to recognize the contribution made by the drivers. This step by SVLL to recognize the drivers with their achievements is indeed commendable, and I am glad to wish all the drivers across the country a Very Happy Drivers Day.”

As part of its CSR initiative, the company celebrates September 17 as “Driver’s Day” all over India year-on-year to recognize and celebrate the hard work and contribution of drivers towards the growth of the logistics sector in India and their role in nation-building.

Building on the momentum of last year’s program, the company again partnered with health services provider to help drivers and their families find out how they can improve their wellbeing, track their health and get reliable, expert information on important health topics.

The “Driver’s Day” Campaign by Siddhi Vinayak Logistic incorporated varied activities in the form of yoga camp, driver safety training, education for their children, gift distribution and special food arrangements across the country to encourage and support drivers. Going forward, every year this day will be made special for all the drivers in the country.

Eminent personalities from the industry, namely, Mr. Pankaj Mehta (Director, Carrier Transicold), Mr. Sridhar Chari (Senior Editor, Next GEN Publishing Ltd.), Mr. A.K. Birla (Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Eicher Motors), Mr. Bal Malkit Singh (President, AIMTC), Mr. Ravindra Pisharody (Managing Director, Tata Motors), and Mr. Nalin Mehta (Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Trucks & Buses) have appealed to the masses worldwide to complement the drivers who play an important role in our daily chores.

RTO and police authorities in major cities where Driver’s Day is being observed to lend their whole-hearted support to the cause. The SVLL initiative is a step towards national awareness that truly needs to be saluted and admired.
