All-time veteran Dr. Abhay Firodia takes over as President of SIAM

Dr. Abhay Firodia, Chairman of Force Motors Ltd., has been elected President of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) for 2017-18 at a time when the Indian automotive sector is making big strides.

Dr. Firodia was earlier the SIAM President in the 1990s, and hence his knowledge and wisdom will contribute a lot for taking the industry to greater heights. Among the various coveted posts held by him are as the President of the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), and of the Mahratta Chamber of Commerce, Industries & Agriculture (MCCIA) (2010-2012).

Dr. Firodia has continued his family tradition of commitment to the society by being the Chairman of the Gandhi National Memorial Society, Pune, and the Chairman of the Regulating Council, Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute. He is also the President of Veerayatan, a transnational social organization, and of the Ahmednagar Education Society.

Founder of Navalveerayatan, a center for value education, Dr. Firodia is closely associated with many other social, educational and healthcare institutions.

Chairman of Shri Firodia Trust and Multanchand Bora Trust founded by his ancestors, he is the recipient of the “Jain Ratna” Award from the then Prime Minister of India, Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee, ‘Cross of the Order of Merit’ of the Federal Republic of Germany, ‘Doctor of Science’ from the Rajiv Gandhi Technological University, Madhya Pradesh, and the recipient of the Ernst & Young – Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2016.
