Brakes India Foundry Division’s pioneering role in greener technology

Emerges one among the top 10 global players

Brakes India Pvt. Ltd. of the TVS Group, a leading components manufacturer set up their Foundry Division in 1981 in Sholinghur, T.N. Since the inception the focus of the Top Management was on Environmental best practices and the Foundry was a trend setter from the early days.

Foundry Division is one of the largest players in the field in India and recognised as one of the Top Foundries globally. They export 60% of their Sales all around the world. Having commenced with a modest output Foundry Division has expanded their foot prints to Oman, Gujarat and recently to Andhra and have multiplied their output to about 145,000 Mt in 2017-18.

Foundry Division was recently awarded the Platinum Rated Greenco award of CII GODREJ Green Business Centre, in the process becoming one of the 14 outfits in India to receive Platinum Rating. This is a testimony to BIPL’s commitment to Clean and Green Manufacturing enshrined in the Vision of the Chairman. Foundry Division had received the Deming Prize for TQM AND a Special Award for TPM EXCELLENCE earlier.

Mr. V. Narasimhan, Executive Director and his illustrious colleagues received the award in the recently organised Green Summit of CUI GBC.
