Like survival of the fittest in the jungle, it is survival of the best in business. Turbo believes in catering to the right demand and hence leaves no stone unturned in its endeavour to provide the best. “The customer will pay you the premium if the quality of your product is better than that of others. We back our claim over bearing life with guarantee over the quality of material used in the bearing and the correct workmanship. We are using 100 Cr6 and SAE52100 steel to manufacture bearings and the hardness is 60/62 HRC as per the designing requirement,” beamed Mr. Vasani.

Owing to the superior product quality most of the Turbo customers in the commercial vehicle space are outside India. “We export to Europe of 50-55 per cent of our produce, about 30 per cent to OEMs in India and 15-20 per cent to the aftermarket. Turbo stands for excellence and is adopting newer and better technology that can attract buyers towards us,” asserted the MD.

With many European customers believing in the solutions offered by Turbo, the company is expecting good orders in FY18-19. “This year too we will achieve a double-digit growth and hence are looking for expansion. We have fetched capacity, just behind our existing plant and installing 4-5 new manufacturing lines. Right now, we are manufacturing 4 lakh bearings a month and will add 2 lakh units. It will be on par with our current standard of fully automatic processes made with the efficient Japanese machinery,” he said.

In addition to managing Turbo Bearings, Mr. Vasani is the President of the Rajkot Engineering Association (REA). Established in 1991, REA helps its members in manufacturing activity and simultaneously looks the supporting dynamics as a social responsibility towards society. “REA looks to reach out to prospective members of the Rajkot manufacturing community and engage those who bring in a wealth of knowledge through practical applications in the workforce. We encourage members, new as well as seasoned, to share their views, experience or expertise by submitting articles, suggestions, etc., that can benefit the entire manufacturing community,” concluded Mr. Vasani.
