Samkrg Pistons and Rings is an established supplier of pistons, pins, and piston rings for petrol and diesel engines to major OEMs in the two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments, along with great market reach in the aftermarket and regional markets.
The Hyderabad-based component maker is now focusing more on 4-wheeler and truck segments, with considerable reach already in the replacement market. The company is working with major truck makers in India, so as to diversify its product portfolio and expand its business. Commenting on the new strategy, Mr. S. Monish, Project Executive, SAMKRG, said: “we would like to take forward our legacy of being a strong supplier of piston assemblies in the two- and three-wheeler segments to large passenger vehicles and trucks. We have expanded our manufacturing and testing facilities to step up our market reach in line with our strategic plans.”
Asked on his company’s preparedness for BS-VI emission norms, Mr. Monish replied that SamKrg is already producing Euro-VI compliant products for the export markets. Several technical updates and testing are being carried out to make the products more efficient and long-lasting, including PVD coating on piston rings, he added. It is also learnt that the company is presently discussing on adaptation to emerging EV-related ecosystem in the components side and has also undertook a comprehensive feasibility study on manufacturing electric powertrain components.
