Hypratek Fluid Power Pvt. Ltd. (HFPPL) is a Bangalore-based company manufacturing tipper hydraulic kits (THKs) for tippers, rock bodies for mining & overburden, truck mounted tipper bulkers, tip bulker mounted on trailers, tip trailers, container tipping trailers for 20’ & 40’ ISO containers, etc. Mr. Sudhir Prabhu, Managing Director, shares his segment insights.
Please brief us your hydraulic wet kit product program for tippers & tip trailers and the application segments to which the above are being supplied.
All these tippers have HFPPL cylinders mounted in Front. Our front mounted THKs starts from 16 ton GVW 6; 8; 10 cu.m capacity truck mounted tippers. 25 ton GVW, 14; 16; 18; 20 cu.m truck mounted tippers. 31 ton GVW, 18; 20; 24 cu.m truck mounted tippers. 37 ton GVW, 22, 24, 26 cu.m five axle truck mounted tippers. 19.5 cu.m & 27 cu.m. Overburden carrying rock body mining tippers. Tip trailers having 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 36, 40 cu.m. capacity & 80 ton pay load (for Gulf countries.) Our THKs are fixed on construction tippers on-road & off-road, coal carrying tippers & tip trailers on road application, tipper bulkers carry special chemicals for chemical industries, steel making industries, 19.5 & 27 cu.m. rock body tippers, carrying overburden in coal mines. Tip trailers are also used for Bulk waste carrying with tipper covering system.
Highlight your production facilities, quality control norms, hydraulics/other testing facilities and USPs. Also indicate details concerning production capacity, manpower & valued customers.
Our plant is situated on 8,300 sq.m. plot of land with 3,000 sq.m. covered area with RCC structure for production, stores, warehousing, etc. We have latest brand new imported CNC controlled turning & milling centres, skiving & roller burnishing machine to machine the ID surface of or tubes, centreless multi head grinding machines, state-of-the-art liquid bath nitriding & oxidation facility to improve surface hardness & toughness on the ID & OD surfaces. This facility & expertise is only available with HFPPL. Every HFPPL cylinder is tested for three cycles at 150% higher working pressures & time is measured in seconds on all three cycles to make very sure that no internal parts are damaged or broken during the test or assembly. Finish painting is carried out in a paint booth using two component P U paint. After painting our cylinders are cured in the oven to have top quality cylinders finish painted in best quality. Our USP is our skiving & roller burnishing process & nitriding & oxidation process which gives our cylinder long working life.
With many local and international players, how do you strategize & compete in the domain?; comment also on the price pressures in such a scenario.
We are customer centric flexible company & we like to satisfy our customer’s needs fully. We do not impose on our customers our standard products if it doesn’t help him, we jointly develop specific product which fits his requirements. We also look into what other related product our customer needs or might need. Thru our extensive network in Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden & now Japan we make them available in cost effective manner. We have technology transfer agreements signed with FlipTop, Sweden, tipper coverings system in India, We have load body & tipper covering system from Marcolin Covering Systems S.r.L., Italy. Now we have “Hori, Japan” truck mounted compressors for cement bulkers. We shall be getting into waste compactors & waste compacting bins from The Netherlands, we would like to partner with our customers & find our prosperity with our customer’s prosperity. Other local & international players (except Hyva) do not have such philosophy, they only focus on the THKs supply & nothing more than that.
Repair work, retrofitting and after sales service– brief us about your capabilities, current involvement and support to customers.
We have four products to offer to our customers. THKs front end & under body, tipper covering systems FlipTop & Marcolin, for Load body covering we have Marcolin Covering System & for bulk cement tank manufacturers we have added HORI compressors. We would like to focus on these portfolios to penetrate the market with our strong aftermarket service support thru our dealerships & our own 12 service engineers at different strategic locations. Later next year we will add some more products related to trucks & transport.
How do you see the demand & growth prospects for your products? Comment on the expansion plans, export market and the segment growth drivers.
I see that the ‘ACHHE DIN AYE HAI’ (Good days are already here) & future is bright. We are already working on doubling our capacity for 3rd quarter demand. We have third share holder “Kyokuto Kaihatsu Kogyo Co. Ltd., Japan”; they are not only our shareholders but shall be our big customer for Japan, Thailand, China & Indonesia. We are already supplying our kits to Gulf region & have strong possibility to supply our THKs to Australia. Our THKs are already on field trials in those countries. But first we want to make very sure that our Indian customers are fully satisfied before we focus on exports in sizeable way.
