Hindustan Composites joins hands with TBK Co. of Japan

The company’s R&D Centre at Aurangabad, recognized by the Department of Science & Technology, is equipped with all testing facilities, including six dynamometers to take care of the testing requirements of OEM and other customers across CV, PV, tractor, railway, 3 and 2-wheeler segments. The state-of-the-art dynamometers, testing and analytical equipment make it a truly world-class facility with its significant contribution towards development of new products.

The company has modern manufacturing facilities at Aurangabad and Bhandara in Maharashtra, and a pan-India marketing network with regional offices in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.

In order to offer world-class technology in disc brake pad for passenger vehicles, the company entered into a joint venture agreement with Advics North India Pvt. Ltd., an affiliate of Advics Company Ltd., Japan, and formed a new company, Compo Advics (India) Pvt. Ltd., in 2014.

Advics, a $5 billion company jointly founded by AISIN Seiki Co. Ltd., Denso Corporation, Sumitomo Electric Industries and Toyota Motor Corporation, is a world leader in passenger vehicle brake systems and friction material.  Compo Advics (India) Pvt. Ltd. has put up a state-of-art manufacturing facility at Bhalgaon, Aurangabad, to  manufacture disc brake pads for passenger vehicles.

The company has entered into a long-term technical assistance agreement with TBK Co. Ltd., headquartered in Tokyo, to obtain technical assistance for manufacturing commercial vehicle brake friction material in India. TBK has about 70% market share in heavy and medium duty commercial vehicle brakes in Japan. This relationship will further strengthen the technical capability of the company in the commercial vehicle friction materials segment, a core business of the company.
