‘Global market’ to be Simpsons’ focus for next three years

Having developed products for the upcoming BS-VI emission norms in the Indian market, Simpsons, reputed engine-maker from the Amalgamations stable, has its sight set on expanding its presence in the global arena.

Mr. Raghu Venkatnarayan, Vice President (Corporate Planning & Programme Implementation), Simpsons

Mr. Raghu Venkatnarayan, Vice President (Corporate Planning & Programme Implementation), Simpsons, said: “We are focusing on the new emission norms and on products which are not just for India but also for the developed markets. Our focus for the next three years is going to be ‘the world’. We will be moving significantly into the European market in the coming years and are also looking to expand our existing  presence in the US market.”

Quizzed as to why people overseas should consider sourcing from India, Mr. Venkatnarayan gave a clear one-word answer: “Cost”, before going on to add: “Cost is the single biggest factor why people should consider sourcing from India. As far as technology capability is concerned we are right up there.”

When asked if the timeline for the BS-VI shift (by 2020) is a bit too early, the VP quipped: “Just go out and breathe the air, it’ll tell you we are quite late (in shifting to BS-VI). The technology is available, it’s about people investing the money and getting it.”
