DICV-made FUSO trucks enter Bangladesh, Indonesia

FUSO-FJ-IndonesiaDaimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV), the wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, along with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC),  Japan, a Daimler company, launched its FUSO trucks in Bangladesh and Indonesia.

The trucks will be sold in Bangladesh through the exclusive dealer, Rangs Motors Ltd., an authorized local distributor of MFTBC and by P.T. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB) in Indonesia. MFTBC holds 18% of KTB shares. These trucks are already present in the markets of Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, with more markets to follow in Africa and Asia.

FUSO is the market leader in Indonesia with a market share of 45.4% and in the light-duty truck segment (5-8 tons GVW) served by the Colt Diesel, the company continues to prove its leadership position with a market share of 53.1% percent in (Jan – Dec) 2013. The company has sold over 280,000 units in Indonesia across light-medium and heavy duty segments. Mitsubishi Fuso products for Indonesia are distributed.

FUSO is already showing strong growth potential in Africa with presence in over 35 markets, and almost doubling sales in the first quarter of 2014 to 2,000 units compared to the same period in 2013. With the addition of this new range of trucks to its product portfolio, FUSO offers its customers a wider choice of trucks that are robust, reliable and fuel efficient, backed by an efficient distribution network.
