Talking on the general response for the company products at the expo, the Managing Director, Mr. Sher S. Sidhu, said visitors’ interest in bus air-conditioning and business-specific enquires was quite impressive. “Our primary objective here is to strengthen Sidwal’s presence in the OEM side by presenting our cutting-edge products to the new bus makers”, he noted.

Sidwal is already a certified supplier of air-conditioning products to SML Isuzu for ambulances made for the Defence sector. “At the expo, we met almost all OEM clients who were present, and we are hopeful that the discussions will translate into workable businesses”, Mr. Sidhu said. Sidwal’s strong presence is realized in the aftermarket side, especially with bus body fabricators, more so in the Northern region.

The company also said that the Busworld Expo was a good opportunity to strengthen its presence in South India, another big market with a number of bus body builders and OEMs. “We renewed our relationship with some of our old, long-time customers with innovative products and new technologies”, said Mr. Sidhu.

On product development and R&D, the CEO, Mr. Ronsher S. Sidhu disclosed that majority of components are designed and manufactured in-house, with inputs from the local bus industry. Critical components, mainly compressors and motors, are sourced from leading global suppliers, “thereby making sure that our products are high-performance, durable and energy-efficient”.

He added that a robust service network pan India supports customers on technical assistance and maintenance of bus air-conditioners.

“In the next five years, we foresee considerable growth in the electric bus market in the country. To leverage on an early mover advantage, we are coming up with an air-conditioning system specifically designed for electric buses. The prototype is in the final stages and will hit the market in two months’ time” he revealed.
