Photonplay enters bus destination sign board game

Noida-based Photonplay Systems announced its entry into the bus destination sign board segment with its first presence at Busworld India. Founded 15 years ago, the home-grown company has been supplying variable message sign boards, ITS systems, traffic management systems and a number of other products to customers across the country and also around the globe.

The company has strong global presence with offices in Mexico, Spain and Germany, manufacturing facilities in the US, and is currently working on over 38 projects for customers in the US, Vietnam, Mexico and other global markets.

Talking about his company’s foray into the bus segment, Mr. Shashwat Srivastava, Business Manager, Photonplay Systems (P) Ltd., says: “We are here to present our bus destination sign boards which is a new vertical for us and this is the first time we are showcasing our presence in this space.”

“The initial feedback has been good; people from the STUs known our brand since we already work with them for ITS and traffic management systems. The OEMs and private fleets are surprised to know about our company’s strong background and the value we are able to offer with our products.” he added.

Photonplay is entering a segment that has a mix of strong home-grown suppliers and brands that offer globally-proven products. Still, the company is confident of the groundwork it has done and hopes to make inroads using its strong experience on the product side and reliable after sales support.

“Our key USPs are our products, which comply with the AIS 140 standards, and our strong service support. On one hand, we are much more economical than the products that are imported and assembled locally and on the other, we are far ahead in terms of technology, say, use of GPS-based technology, when compared to local manufacturers. These coupled with the strong service support we provide gives us the confidence to do well in the market”, reveals Mr. Srivastava.

Photoplay has started reaching out to bus manufacturers, private fleet operators and STUs as part of its plans to establish a strong market presence.
