Making its first appearance at Busworld India, FUNTORO’s main aim was to identify potential distribution partners as part of its well-defined strategy of establishing a strong ecosystem of sales & service support which it feels is an essential factor to be successful in a diverse market such as India.

Talking about his company’s participation at the fair, Mr. Semih Chiu, Sales Manager – OBM Division, Micro-Star Int’l (MSI) Co. Ltd., shares: “The overall experience at the fair has been very good and we see this show as one of the most professional exhibitions for the bus and coach sector in India.”

“The feedback for our products is very good and we have gained good understanding of the market and its demand from our discussions with potential partners and customers. We have had visitors from OEMs and fleet operators and have also found some potential distribution partners.” he said.

FUNTORO currently has distributors in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai and Kochi and has equipped around 100 buses with its systems. By 2020, the company aims to have a stable distribution channel with at least one distributor in each Indian State.

Apart from reaching out directly to fleet operators, the company is in discussion with the OEMs since the last few months and is working on special projects with some of them.

“Our first target is to set up the ecosystem through our distribution channel across the country. We welcome opportunities for business co-operation in India and are willing to invest our resources to have a beneficial business model together with our partners. We do not just want to sell our product and make money; we are targeting a long-term partnership for which setting up the ecosystem is the most important step.” said Mr Chiu.

“We believe that once we have a good channel with reliable service support and a quality product, we will be able to grow in any market”, adds Mr. Chiu.

With the Indian bus sector already having established players in the infotainment field, FUNTORO has understood that delivering added value to customers is the best and only way to be really able to make an impact in the market.

“Differentiating ourselves from others in the market is one of our main focus areas. The products currently available are based on current technology and requirements; our strategy is to develop new applications that are much ahead of the current customer demand, so whenever customers look for new solutions, we have them ready. We are focusing on developing new applications with value-added services”, he explains.
