Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Co. Ltd. of South Korea and FPT Industrial, a leading diesel engine manufacturer, have signed an agreement for the latter’s supply of Euro VI-compliant engines for the full product range of the former.

Under the agreement, FPT Industrial will power the total Euro VI product offering of the South Korean company with NEF (6.7-litre) and Cursor (9, 11 and 13-litre) Series engines, equipped with the high efficiency SCR (HI-eSCR) system.

The combination of FPT’s engines with the patented and unique HI-eSCR will enable Tata Daewoo’s commercial vehicles to comply with the extremely stringent Euro VI Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) limits by means of the selective catalytic reduction system alone, without the need for exhaust gas recirculation. Furthermore, the engines respect particulate legislative limits, thanks to a passive regenerated diesel particulate filter (DPF) only, without the need of any active regeneration.

The engines, equipped with the latest generation heavy duty Common Rail injection system, are characterised by high power, fast load response and high power density, ensuring at the same time low fuel consumption and long maintenance intervals, representing a reference in their respective categories.

Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Motors.
