Started in 1967 with a single taxi, the company has today grown into a behemoth with a fleet of over 1,250 vehicles and its presence spanning across four states in South India. The company has a number of ambitious goals lined up for 2020 in terms of revenue generation, fleet expansion, and adoption of new technologies.

Offering a glimpse of the company’s 2020 goals, Mr. A. Afzal, CMD, Parveen Travels, said: “As part of our ‘16-19’ vision, we aim to achieve Rs. 1,000 crores as the turnover for the whole group, 65% of which will come from Parveen Travels. We also plan to establish travel lounges with modern facilities, expand into smart cities of South India, and introduce top-notch, technologically advanced vehicles with all the latest equipment.”

Mr. Afzal also added that they are raising funds through private equity and the investment will be carefully planned, screened, and invested for the sustainable growth of not just the company, but the industry as a whole.

On asked about the company’s key focus areas until 2020, Mr. Afzal responded by saying that technological adaptation has always been the consistent and continuous mantra of Parveen Travels right from its inception. The company wants to offer the customers a unique travel experience by introducing Wi-Fi facility in all of their vehicles and setting up travel lounges with a variety of facilities like Wi-Fi, AV entertainment, fast food, and cafeteria. It wants to launch its own mobile app and introduce loyalty programs for the customers.

Parveen Travels has plans to set up a call center to manage its operations effectively and offer excellent customer service at all levels. The company is also working on an intra-city, app-based bus shuttle service aimed at office goers to make their commute hassle-free and economical.

Despite the intense competition in the private bus sector, Parveen Travels is confident of retaining its position by 2020. Mr. Afzal stated that being the trendsetter in the industry in terms of introducing new products and technology, dedication and passion towards customer satisfaction, and the commitment on reliability, safety, and quality are the core USPs of the company.
