Eberspaecher launches two new products

Eberspaecher Suetrak Bus Climate Control Systems India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of the Eberspaecher Group of Germany, introduced two new products to expand its portfolio in the country. The new AC 505 range is suitable for midi bus applications and is a compact and modular unit fitted with an efficient micro channel condenser. The second new product is the AC 520 series developed for 10 m buses and is a fully brushless unit, tipped to be the most efficient in its segment.

Being a global leader in the bus air-conditioning space, Eberspaecher received very good response at the show, mainly driven by its new product displays. Says Mr. K.P. Singh, Director, Eberspaecher Suetrak India: “The response at the show has been very good with some vehicle OEMs and fleet operators visiting our stand. It is an interesting show for the Indian market, and we hope it will grow in the coming years. With respect to our new launches, we have two new products for the midi bus and coach applications. They have been very well received by our customers. We also displayed a smaller unit, the AC420 G2, to get an initial customer response. The product is suitable for mini buses and will be available by the end of the year.”

With bus air-conditioning players dominating the show, it was interesting to find what each company considered as its USP. Being a German company with an Indian subsidiary, Eberspaecher was one of the earliest entrants into the Indian market and probably has today one of the best packages of product, technology know-how and service back-up in India. Mr. Singh affirms: “For us, product quality is the key differentiating factor, and so our success depends on what we serve the OEM. We have a quality German product, localized in India at an attractive price, supported by a strong aftersales service network of around 52 dealers across the country. So it is basically the whole package that we deliver to the OEM and fleet operators, which makes us more attractive than competition.”

Eberspaecher has a good share among OEM customers as well as the aftermarket, and works closely with fleet operators, both big and small ones, and all major bus body builders. With the industry showing some positive signs and with the entry of new OEMs into the bus segment and also the upgradation of some body builders to complete vehicle manufacturing, the company expects to continue its strong run in the country.

“The market has been good and there has been fair growth in the last two quarters. With more infrastructure projects coming up, there is a lot of momentum in the industry, and we expect it to really pick up towards the end of this year. With new multinational OEMs beginning bus production in India this year, we are confident of maintaining our strong position in the market”, Mr. Singh signs off.
