Two Mercedes-Benz Econic 2630 trucks handed over to Wisag Aviation Service

??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Two Mercedes-Benz Econic 2630 trucks have been handed over to Wisag Aviation Service in Frankfurt, a company specialising in airport services. The vehicles are used to deliver supplies to aircraft ranging from passenger blankets and cushions to magazines and newspapers. In addition these vehicles with its scissorlift bodies can also be used as “medical lifts” for wheelchair users and infirm passengers. “The investment has definitely been worthwhile, as the Econic 2630 is not only efficient and environmentally friendly by virtue of its design. Thanks to its improved safety technology, the new Econic also eases the daily workload of our personnel when making deliveries to aircraft at Frankfurt airport,” says Mr. Hartmut Meyer, General Manager of Wisag Aviation Service Holding.

Users of the Mercedes-Benz Econic appreciate the low-entry concept with its convenient access and outstanding visibility through the large, panoramic windscreen as well as to both sides. Visibility is further improved by cameras for a 360-degree all-round view and the so-called blind-spot camera system. The vehicle is equipped with an Allison automatic transmission as standard. This means that the driver can concentrate fully on the traffic situation, which benefits safety on the apron.

Moreover, thanks to its low-frame concept in combination with the low cab available ex-factory, the Econic has an overall vehicle height which allows it to deliver supplies to all current aircraft types from the MD80 to the Airbus A380, without requiring a slimmed-down cab or any modifications to the cab.
