TII Group acquires Tratec’s civil business in India

International presence expanded with production on site

With the “Make in India” program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured a smoother flow of international investments into India. At this point, the course for an expansion to India was already set for the German TII Group, the world market leader in the development and manufacture of heavy transport vehicles with hydraulically suspended pendulum axles. It recently took over the civil branch of the traditional Indian supplier Tratec, successful in the Indian market for over 30 years, the company has now made its latest move. TII India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary, will function as interlinkage between the existing and future Tratec civil business and the TII Group. Customers now profit on site from the TII Group’s top-rate performance, technological edge and global presence.

TII India will offer a variety of proven technology vehicles from spring 2016 on, all in the spirit of “German Engineering – Make in India”. At the plant covering 30,000 sq.m., trained and skilled employees will produce a broad range of transportation equipment by the new product brand Tratec TIIGER. Beneath modular vehicles TII India will offer a variety of light telescopic and non-telescopic trailers.

Said Mr. Otto Rettenmaier, head of owner family of the TII Group: “The TII Group has grown continuously in the last decades and is a world market leader in heavy duty transporter solutions with hydraulically suspended axles for payloads of up to 15.000 metric tons. The foundation of TII India with its new production plant is the next logical step in our strategy to serve our international customers on site.”

Dr. Jochen Landes, Managing Director at TII India, added: “TII India Pvt. Ltd. has its production site at Bawal in Haryana. Skilled and trained by German standards, our employees produce saddle trailers, modular trailers and a broad range of accessories.”
