Goldhofer ADDRIVE in limelight

It has been quite an eventful year for Goldhofer as they launched their new product ADDRIVE at BAUMA Munich in April. When we met Mr. Stefan Fuchs, CEO, Goldhofer, at IAA CV show in Hanover, we were pleased to learn developments on the product side and its future for the Indian market.

“ADDRIVE is a unique solution. For many years, people tried to have a trailer which can move around 80 km and then can be self-propelled. With our new ADDRIVE solution, customers will be able to eliminate multiple loading and unloading on a truck and a trailer and only have one process which is very effective and efficient for our customers and also the customers of our customers,” said Mr. Fuchs.

Notably, the ADDRIVE is a heavy duty module that combines the benefits of a towed module with those of a self-propelled modular transporter in terms of force, speed, flexibility and economics. Goldhofer’s ADDRIVE is designed as a heavy duty module with switchable drive, i.e., with disconnection of the drive unit when maximum speed is reached and continued travel as a normal heavy duty module. The disconnection separates the motor from the wheel and so prevents the drive from overheating. To handle gradients, the ADDRIVE is simply activated again to obtain full power from the system. That avoids the need for an additional towing tractor or pusher.

Goldhofer, with a share of around 80 per cent in the Indian market, is excited to launch the ADDRIVE in the country. “Our customers are waiting for cost-effective solutions and now we can offer these solutions in India. We have also made presentations in India and the response we have received has been extremely good,” revealed the CEO.
