EXCON, South Asia’s largest construction equipment exhibition, starts today, November 25 till 29th of this month, at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC). Organized by CII, EXCON has proved a major platform for showcase of latest products and technologies in the construction equipment sector in India, attracting exhibitors and visitors from all over the world.
The expo is witnessing the participation of over 800 exhibitors, including 300 international companies and eight country pavilions – China, Finland, Germany, Italy, South Korea, Spain, Turkey and the UK. A huge visitor base of over 35,000 people, including contractors, government officials, public sector companies, leasing and finance companies, machinery and equipment dealers, construction companies and many other key stakeholders are expected to attend the five-day show.
In the run-up to this year’s edition, CII organized a roadshow in Chennai on November 8 to present a preview of the show. Mr. S.N. Eisenhower, Chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council, and Director, Saint Gobain Glass India Ltd., delivered the welcome address, followed by a presentation on EXCON by Mr. V. G. Sakthi Kumar, Member – EXCON 2015 Steering Committee, and Managing Director, Schwing Stetter Sales & Services Pvt. Ltd.
The roadshow included an interesting panel discussion where future trends in the Indian construction equipment industry and other topics were deliberated upon. Mr. K. Vijay, Member – EXCON 2015 Steering Committee, and Managing Director, Ajax Fiori Engineering (I) Pvt. Ltd., moderated the session which saw industry leaders like Mr. R. Radhakrishnan, former National President, Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mr. Anand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Schwing Stetter (India) Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Raj Lakhani, Member – EXCON 2015 Steering Committee, and Managing Director, PERI India, and Mr. S. Sakthi Kumar, Member – EXCON 2015 Steering Committee, and Executive Director, Berco Undercarriages (India) Pvt. Ltd., share their expert views.
