New TechTonic packaging for Balmerol lubes unveiled

Taking forward its aggressive marketing strategy and brand building program for its ‘Balmerol’ range of Lubricants, Balmer Lawrie, the highly diversified PSE, has just launched the new TechTonic Packs for Diesel Engine Oils and 4T Oils for the automotive sector in Kolkata. At the launch function, the revamped Balmerol logo and the newly-developed technologies – DEKATROL for Diesel Engine Oils and WOWtech for the two-wheeler oils – were also introduced.

 

The new packaging was launched by Mr. Viren Sinha, Chairman & Managing Director, Balmer Lawrie, in the presence of Directors, senior officials, key customers, dealers and distributors. The packaging was also launched in Chennai and Pune for its trade partners and customers in southern and western regions respectively.

The new TechTonic packaging symbolises the technological advancement achieved with the use of the exclusive “DEKATROL” and “WOWtech” technology which act as a “tonic” for today’s high tech engines. The packaging, along with the revamped logo, looks contemporary and modern.

The company’s R&D Centre, known as the Application Research Laboratory (ARL) located in Kolkata, developed the tribological solutions using the unique “DEKATROL technology” which has a ten-point advantage, is eco-friendly, and helps to reduce frictional energy losses and enhance fuel economy, as also the life of the product. The solutions developed using “WOWtech” technology provide extra protection and act as strong shield for the engine, clutch and gear.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Viren Sinha said that his company is constantly working on providing best-in-class environment-friendly tribological solutions which are at par with competition. He reiterated that automotive retail business will continue to be the focus to drive growth and profitability.

The new packaging for the following products using “WOWtech” technology was launched:

• Balmerol Biker 4T – 4 Stroke Engine Oil (API SJ)

• Balmerol Race 4T – 4 Stroke Engine Oil (API SL)

• Balmerol Superstar – Premium Semi-Synthetic 4 Stroke Engine Oil (API SM)

The new packaging for the following products using “DEKATROL technology” was launched:

• Balmerol Ultima Plus – Premium Quality Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oil (API CI-4 Plus)

• Balmerol CPRB – Premium Diesel Engine Oil (API CF 4)

Balmer Lawrie is rapidly expanding the distribution network in both the industrial and automotive retail segments in focused markets, ably supported by a strong marketing campaign and brand building exercise.

Earlier this year, the company had undertaken a comprehensive capacity modernisation and enhancement programme of its pan-India facilities for manufacturing the Balmerol brand of lubricants. It has drawn up plans to aggressively market Balmerol and has embarked on a massive program to expand its distribution network and double its market share in the next five years.

Mr. Viren Sinha stressed that the major focus would be on the automotive retail business to drive growth and profitability, and this would be done by leveraging and rapidly expanding the distribution network in focused markets and effective brand building.

ARL has provided the Balmerol product range the cutting edge technology in speciality lubricants. ARL continuously works very closely with customers and original equipment manufacturers to develop speciality lubricants, meeting their very exacting quality standards. Its focus has not only been to provide tribological solutions but also to work with the Sales and Marketing team on development and commercialisation of new generation lubricants, especially biodegradable and environment-friendly products.

The new generation Balmerol lubricants not only provide unmatched performance but also have minimal impact on the environment. While some of the long life products, specially designed for the automotive sector, surpass 150,000 km, the others in the two-wheeler segment cross 50,000 km.

ARL also prides on the patented synthetic mould oil for steel industries, API CJ4 engine oil, energy-efficient synthetic industrial gear oil and a host of other new products and solutions.

Besides speciality and contemporary products, the Balmerol range also includes conventional products for all sectors.
